Esta Twyla Deemer, daughter of Clarence & Marie (Price) Walter, was born November 17, 1917 in Mt Ayr, Iowa. Here Esta grew up and graduated from Mt Ayr High School. On December 11, 1942 Esta was united in marriage to Harold J Deemer in Grant City, Missouri. Harold and Esta were married nearly 70 years – a life centered around raising four children and farming. They settled in Southern Iowa, farming in Diagonal, Iowa for 11 years before moving to the Kellerton area where they farmed for over 50 years.
Esta’s greatest joy was the holidays when all the family came together. She enjoyed crocheting, embroidery, reading and doing puzzles.
Esta passed away at Clearview Nursing Home in Mt Ayr on November 10, 2017. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold; son John Deemer; her parents; uncles Orrie Walter & wife Dorothy and Homer Walter & wife Hazel; sisters-in-law Maude Bennett & husband Jesse, Irene Ingram & husband Wes; brothers-in-law Albert Deemer & wife Eva; Frank Deemer; Ralph Deemer & wife Helen; Lester Deemer & wife Wilma; Wayne Deemer; Bob Wehrle, Joe Messina and Jack Keller.
Those left to cherish her memory include son Kenneth Deemer & wife Patricia of Olathe, Kansas; daughters Katherine Reynolds of Osceola, Iowa and Patricia Nell & husband Jim of Ankeny, Iowa; daughter-in-law Nancy Grose of Kellerton, Iowa; 14 grandchildren and many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; sisters-in-law Helen Wehrle of West Burlington, Iowa; Wilma Messina of Magalia, California; Rosalee Keller of Newton, Iowa; Vera Deemer of Mt Ayr, Iowa and Dorothy Neal of Garden Grove, Iowa; cousin Larry Walter of Grimes, IA; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
